Over the Last Few Years, Cricket in Nepal has flourished massively. One of the major reasons without any doubt is the fact that Nepal participated in ICC T20 World cup held at Bangladesh in 2014. Since then Cricket has evolved more as one of most followed and watched Sports in the Nepal. Although people aren’t much familiar with the different rules of Cricket which is understandable for the people of Associate country and because there are a lot of rules in cricket which sometimes even International Cricket might not have heard.
The zeal and the passion among the crowd was no less than any test playing nation like India, Australia, or England.
But having said that people have been passionately supporting cricket and keen to watch cricket anytime. Initiation of NPL was much needed not only to uplift the cricketer’s economic life but also to promote Cricket more and to attract more people towards cricket. During the recent matches between Nepal and Kenya we saw massive crowd at the Tribhuwan International Cricket Ground, Kirtipur. People didn’t backed away from supporting their country’s one of the major sport even in gloomy weather. Though Nepal lost the first match by 5 wickets but crowd was absolutely electrifying and the support was superb throughout the match even in the rain affected match. The zeal and the passion among the crowd was no less than any test playing nation like India, Australia, or England.
Still many of the spectators are not much familiar to the game of cricket but their passion and desire to support cricket is simply unquestionable. Some of them were at the stadium without caring about their exams and even the visually impaired people were there to cheer for their beautiful country.
