A very profound, pronounced and talented cricketer Shakti Prasad Gauchan has taken retirement from international cricket at the age of 34. A multitalented Shakti Gauchan is a right-handed batsman and a left-arm orthodox spinner and started playing an international match against Oman in July 2012. The first Nepali cricketer to take an international hatrik became the second Nepalese cricketer to score an international century (remained unbeaten 106 off 103 balls against Italy).
A legendary personal is not only favorite amongst Nepali fans, but due to his pleasant and smiley face, he has made international fans too. Coming to his achievements, Shakti Gauchan is a currently ranked 77th T20 bowler in the world achieving a rating of 329 on 17 July 2015. He is presently captain of Jagadamba Giants of the Nepal Premier League.
Gauchan said the match against the Netherlands (a two-match ODI) would be his final foreign tour. The next game in Nepal will be his last national game. However, he will play in national leagues and tournaments. Nepal will play their next match against Marylebone Cricket Club and Netherlands in one-day triangular T20 series at Lord’s on July 29.
